Folienwerk Wolfen GmbH numbers among the pioneers of high quality EVA film processing. Founded in 1991, the factory has produced lenticular film for motion pressures and packaging film for medical devices ever since. The highly versatile evguard® EVA film is likewise part of the film plant’s comprehensive range, is produced in Thalheim and is exported worldwide. Laminated glass produced with evguard® has excellent properties and can be used as fire resistant glass or facade glazing, for example.

The evguard® laminating film, a high-quality PET film, is used in the production of versatile laminated glass. The EVA films, made from ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, have exceptional resistance to ageing and thermal resistance, meaning that laminated glass produced with them are also particularly hard-wearing.

Thanks to its strength, our evguard® EVA film guarantees permanent and stable bonding of glass. Since the transparency of the glass is not affected by the film, the resulting laminated glass is ideal for use in architecture and interior design.

Innovative technology for high temperatures .

Once the EVA film has gone through the lamination process, it is integrated and demonstrates properties which are otherwise known from hard rubber. As a result, the film does not melt at high temperatures in laminates – it resists temperature increases for much longer than conventional PVB films. This makes laminated glass with evguard® perfect for use as fire resistant glass, for example.

Laminated safety glass which is produced using our EVA film with 44.2 construction achieves an airborne sound insulation value of 37 dB or better. No additional specifically sound-absorbing layers are required for this result. As a result, the laminated glass is suitable for use in facades, among other things.

Using EVA film for the production of high quality laminated glass

The evguard® EVA film is delivered as rolled goods. It is available in widths of up to 2400 mm and thicknesses of 0.200 to 1.140 mm.

The density is 0.96 g/cm³ and you can order the film, which is not hygroscopic, as a transparent or a milky white film.
